Winter Trend Style

Every week we bring you a new trend that has been featured at fashion week to offer it the chance for a spot in your wardrobe, but we are confident some trends are a must flirt, making voting not necessary.  So, on the heels of the Golden Globes, we pulled together our favorite red carpet looks utilizing key winter trends seen on the runway for your style inspiration. We are confident these trends are flirted with by more ladies than just celebrities, but just in case convincing is necessary, we provided street style looks and styling tips.

Ruffles

From sleeves to hems, and tops to dresses, no matter where the accent, ruffles are elevating outfits this winter.  Take your look up a notch with this feminine trait like Erdem on the F/W 2015 runway, in a dress that makes no accessories needed.  Lauren Price of Fashionably Lo, gives the trend the royal treatment in a purple top, demonstrating the key is to keep the rest of the outfit simple to avoid looking too busy.  Although Zendaya's dramatic ruffle proves when the occasion calls for it, this trend can show off in a big way.

Capes

Expanding beyond just a simple element of the goth trend, capes are draping the fashion scene on their own.  Whether worn as an extra layer for warmth or purely fashion focused, it is sure to promote whoever wears it to street style star like blogger Madeline Rose.  Dolce and Gabbana featured the cape as a unique stand out piece, while J Lo's cape gives her dress more dimension.  Acting as an accessory, without ever having to worry about overdoing it, it is the perfect item to throw on when an outfit needs an added touch.

Florals

Flower power took on a new meaning on the F/W 2015 runway.  Giving off a 1970’s vibes and dreams of warmer temps, we welcome a beautiful, unique print to overshadow the plaids and stripes that typcially consume our winter wardrobe.  A bold contrast as seen on the Valentino runway keeps it feminine, while darker florals give your look edge like Rachel McAdam's print gown and red lip.  However, don't feel limited to darker florals and dare to flirt with pastels this winter.  Choosing a light floral print in a heavier fabric like blogger Lauren Murphy, ensures it is season appropriate.

Cutouts

Perhaps the most challenging to flirt with of the featured trends, cut-outs creates a fine line between subtle sexiness and purposely promiscuous. We all know the rule when showing skin is less is more, but with cut-outs placement is also key.  The Louis Vuitton runway took an out-of-the-box approach with a cut-out instead of a typical v-neck, while Brie Larson showed off her shape and created balance with a high neckline.  When done properly, like Olivia Rodriguez, any basic outfit can be transformed.

Between fashion weeks, celebrity events, and everyday blogger style, there are hundreds of trends per season worn and attempted to be styled. Which of these fashion trends have you already flirted with? Tell us in the comments below!
